Kyoto Sangyo University’s Foreign Language Faculty is looking for a new part-time teacher from fall for four classes: Monday periods 1 and 2 (9 to 12.15) and Thursdays 1 and 2 (9 to 12.15.) Full-Time Tenured, Nara University
Nara University anticipates an opening for a full-time English professor beginning in April, 2023. This is a tenured position, involving teaching Oral Communication classes to undergraduate students as well as several intensive sessions per year for the Distance Education program. Candidates with research interests in any area of Linguistics, Literature, English Education or a related field will be considered. Although a Ph.D. is preferred, candidates with an MA degree and evidence of solid research will be considered. The ability to handle committee work, student advising and other activities in Japanese is an important requirement for the post (approximately level N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.) Experience as a full-time contract professor or shokutaku would be an asset as well. The JALT Publications, JALT Journal, The Language Teacher, and the PostConference Publication, are looking for volunteers to review, copy edit, and proofread manuscripts and submissions. Training and mentoring will be provided to those who want to assist The Language Teacher and the PostConference Publication, as such no prior experience is necessary to join those teams. These positions do not involve a huge time commitment and are great ways to learn more about the publication process, improve your own academic writing skills, and make new connections within the JALT community. We are currently looking to fill some key positions such as Conference Manager, Digital Conference Handbook Layout Editor, Plenary Speaker Liaison, Featured Speaker Liaison, and someone to organize student volunteers who will work onsite at the conference.
